Pourquoi créez vous des images ?
I started taking and developing pictures from the age of 12, as my father left behind him a darkroom. From there on, i spent hours , fascinated by the process of developing my own photos and seeing them appear in black & white. That same fascination, the apparition of an expression, a feeling, a texture, remains with me today.
Quel moment vous a le plus marqué dans votre carrière ?
I have often, as a documentary photographer, taken pictures of people living in remote parts of the world. One of the moments that had a very strong impact on me was when, in 1990 I was photographing the Mentawai medecine man, in the midle of the jungle. He transmitted over me a great strenghth and is still with me today. A precious gift.
