Founded in 1903, Omega SA is a Swiss luxury watch company based in Biel, Switzerland. It has been a part of the Swatch group since 1998. Thanks to its longevity, reputation and rich history, the prestigious brand is one of the major companies in the Swiss watch industry.

Challenge

The Omega Speedmaster watch has a large community of fans all around the world. Via the #SpeedyTuesday, all fans meet every Tuesday on social networks to post photos of their wrist adorned with the famous watch.

On the occasion of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, Omega wanted to thank the Japanese Speedmaster community, which brings together many enthusiasts, by creating a dedicated Instagram campaign.

Omega commissioned Ooshot to source a content creator specializing in Instagram, knowing how to handle Japanese aesthetics, in order to create a campaign in Reels format.

Solution

In order to find a content creator with his own artistic touch, Ooshot has armed itself with its tech tool. Among a multitude of Japanese talents, each as original as the other, the final choice fell on a motion designer anchored in the vintage manga universe. To accompany him, Ooshot also called on a sound designer to put his images into music.

Deliverables

We delivered six assets: three Reels videos and three posts for the brand's Instagram feed. Each post and Reel individually stages the three models of the Speedmaster, all placed in a pop universe inspired by futuristic manga of the 1980s.
